The OptimESM kick-off took place on 7-9 February at SMHI in Norrköping, Sweden. SMHI welcomed around 100 online and on-site participants as the coordinator of the Horizon Europe project.
Torben Koenigk and Helena Martins started the kick-off meeting and the first session. Later the participants also heard from the consortium partners, the EAB members partners and the international collaborators. For the second session, the project advisor Richard Tavares and the financial management provided useful information. The participants also got an overview of the project.
The sessions contiuned after lunch with overviews of all 8 work packages as well as scientific presentations and invited talks. On the second day the participants listened to more invited talks, as well as project presentations to find synergies with OptimESM. The discussions within and across the work packages continued during the afternoon, as well as on the third an final day of the kick-off meeting.
